Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and AWS
• Design and implement features for data ingestion, third-party integrations (Slack, HubSpot, Notion), and enterprise security
• Own the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews and mentorship
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to system reliability and observability

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python (or Java, C++, or Node.js)
• Experience building distributed, cloud-native systems on AWS
• Deep understanding of API design and authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT)
• Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
