Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Responsibilities

• Solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services to handle trillions of data points per day
• Design and implement architecture to scale services for increased traffic
• Deploy new features to production using progressive rollouts and feature flags
• Investigate and resolve production issues for services owned by your team
• Collaborate with your team to plan and prioritize high-impact engineering projects

Requirements

• Significant experience in one or more backend programming languages
• Proven ability to design architecture for high-scale distributed systems
• Experience designing AI backend systems with awareness of quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows
• BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent professional experience
• Strong focus on code simplicity and performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Motivation to push the boundaries of how AI improves software engineering best practices
• Experience building, validating, and refining AI-generated output in production products
