Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade greenfield services using Java and Spring Boot, targeting high throughput and low latency.
• Implement RESTful, gRPC, and event-driven APIs for payment initiation, reconciliation, and settlement flows.
• Build core components for Payout, Card Processing, and FX systems from the ground up.
• Integrate LLM-powered features and agentic workflows, including tool/function calling and autonomous multi-step processes.
• Ensure system resilience through circuit breakers, idempotency, and robust observability (logging, tracing, and metrics).
• Contribute to PCI DSS compliant system design, including secure data handling and audit logging.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and container configurations using Docker and Kubernetes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with deep expertise in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Proven experience building high-throughput, high-availability distributed payment or financial services systems.
• Strong understanding of payment architecture, including idempotency, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with container-based deployment using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS compliant system design and secure coding practices.
• Practical experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock) and designing agentic workflows.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React for developing internal tooling and operational dashboards.
• Background in FX processing, treasury systems, or multi-currency settlement.
• Experience integrating with real-time FX data sources like Bloomberg feeds.
• Familiarity with financial messaging standards such as ISO 20022 or SWIFT.
