Senior Software Engineer, Backend

About the Company

Ambient.ai is the category creator and leader in Agentic Physical Security. Powered by Ambient Pulsar, our platform integrates with existing security cameras and access control systems to unify monitoring, threat assessment, and investigations through an always-on reasoning layer.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement REST and GraphQL endpoints
• Design and implement highly available, latency-sensitive, fault-tolerant microservices
• Build core infrastructure for processing large volumes of video streaming data
• Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of all backend services
• Develop large-scale platform problems and own small-to-medium platform features end-to-end

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent field
• 7+ years of experience building scalable and available web services
• Strong experience in Python, C++, or Golang
• Expertise in APIs (REST / GraphQL), relational databases (MySQL / Postgres), streaming pipelines, and pub-sub systems
• Experience designing complex microservices architectures
• Experience managing service reliability and cloud operations (AWS, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
• Experience building SaaS product offerings
