Senior Software Engineer, Backend (AI)

Responsibilities

• Design and scale backend services and APIs that power AI-driven features using Python and Java
• Own cloud infrastructure by defining, deploying, and managing services using Terraform on AWS
• Build robust evaluation pipelines to assess AI system quality and improve model performance
• Optimize infrastructure for cost, latency, and performance when working with managed AI services
• Support agent architecture by building reliable, observable, and scalable backend systems for autonomous AI workflows
• Collaborate with core engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into the main application using TypeScript

Requirements

• 3 to 6+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience shipping scalable systems
• Deep expertise in Python and its ecosystem for web services and data processing
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proven experience deploying and managing containerized applications
• Ability to operate in a 0→1 environment to define new patterns for AI-native product development

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with managed AI services (Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock) or working with LLMs in production
• Experience building evaluation frameworks such as RAGAs, LangSmith, or DeepEval
• Familiarity with agentic frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, or multi-agent system design
• Background in MLOps, data engineering, or experience at consumer/marketplace platforms
