Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power AI Platform products
• Develop production systems in Python or other modern backend languages with an emphasis on reliability and performance
• Build and evolve REST APIs and/or gRPC services, including request validation and versioning
• Design and maintain relational and NoSQL data models using systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or Redis
• Implement asynchronous processing flows using queues and worker-based systems
• Work on real-time streaming features and retrieval workflows to support AI interactions
• Write strong automated tests, including unit and integration coverage, to ensure high code quality
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and AI/ML teams to define API contracts and deliver end-to-end features

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience in production environments
• Strong proficiency in at least one production language such as Python, Go, or Java
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and/or gRPC services
• Experience with relational databases and/or NoSQL data stores
• Experience with asynchronous processing patterns (queues, workers, retries)
• Proficiency with Docker and modern backend development workflows
• Strong testing discipline, including unit testing and integration testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity or working knowledge of AWS
• Experience with modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Spring Boot
• Experience with Redis, WebSockets, or real-time streaming systems
• Experience with LLM/AI integration, semantic retrieval, or token streaming
• Experience with observability tooling, structured logging, or Sentry
• Experience in fintech or regulated domains
