Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own end-to-end backend systems powering the alternatives platform
• Architect scalable data models and services to support complex fund structures and investor allocations
• Develop robust APIs, workflows, and internal tooling for tracking performance, cash flows, and portfolio exposure
• Partner with the Private Investments Team to translate investment strategies into scalable product experiences
• Build internal and client-facing tools that support fund launches, client onboarding, and investor reporting
• Work cross-functionally with investment, product, legal, and operations teams
• Ensure data accuracy, auditability, and consistency across financial workflows

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience as a software engineer
• Strong command of Python
• Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals
• Experience building production systems with complex data models and APIs
• Basic familiarity with private markets or alternative investments (Private equity, VC, private credit)
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and partner with non-engineering stakeholders
• Based in the Bay Area or planning to relocate to the Bay Area

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting alternatives workflows (fund admin, investor onboarding, reporting)
• Background in fintech, wealth management, or investment platforms
• Experience building systems requiring high data integrity and auditability
• Exposure to working with investment teams or clients (RIA, private banks, asset managers)
