Senior Software Engineer – Application & Cloud Security

Responsibilities

• Maintain deep understanding of product/system architecture and implementation patterns
• Collaborate with engineering teams on threat models and design reviews
• Act as the primary AppSec expert for software, security, and compliance teams
• Mentor engineers on secure design patterns and coding practices
• Develop software security patterns, including IaC templates and container hardening
• Lead automation and integration of SAST, DAST, and SCA tools in CI/CD pipelines
• Perform security-focused code reviews and triage vulnerability results
• Contribute to technical compliance strategies and cloud infrastructure hardening
• Participate in Engineering on-call rotations for incident response

Requirements

• US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on production systems
• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• Deep understanding of software vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies
• Experience with cloud infrastructure security and container-based deployments
• Knowledge of software supply chain security and dependency management
• Proficiency in secrets management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
• Understanding of IAM, applied cryptography, and network security
• Proficiency in API security, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and scrum-based practices
• Experience interpreting security and compliance frameworks
• Experience with application security testing tools and vulnerability validation
• Experience with AI/LLM-assisted security tooling

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) security paradigms
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, or similar frameworks
• Experience in government or defense technology environments
