Senior Software Development Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale automated test frameworks for Java microservices using hexagonal architecture.
• Develop comprehensive test suites including functional, integration (Testcontainers), regression, contract, and end-to-end tests.
• Validate Kafka event pipelines, focusing on consumer behavior, event ordering, idempotency, and dead-letter queue processing.
• Ensure data integrity across MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, and Elasticsearch.
• Validate Python-based AI/ML service outputs, including scoring model results and LLM response safety gates.
• Collaborate with backend engineers and architects to embed quality early in the design phase.
• Own release quality by defining and tracking quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior QA/SDET engineers and establish engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in QA Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET roles.
• Strong expertise in Java-based test automation frameworks.
• Deep experience testing distributed microservices, REST APIs, and Kafka-based architectures.
• Proficiency with Testcontainers for integration testing (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka, etc.).
• Strong understanding of Kafka testing patterns and data integrity validation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience validating AI/ML model outputs and scoring pipeline correctness.
• Exposure to contract testing (Pact) and service virtualization.
• Experience with performance, load, or chaos testing using tools like JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
• Knowledge of Python test frameworks (pytest).
• Background in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
