Senior Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems for email routing and security
• Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for large-scale service migrations
• Build and integrate AI-powered tooling for operational efficiency and anomaly detection
• Develop and maintain robust APIs and libraries for internal consumption
• Partner with Security, Compliance, and Platform teams to implement perimeter security re-architecture
• Mentor and grow junior engineers through technical guidance and code reviews
• Contribute to org-wide technical roadmaps and design reviews

Requirements

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team leader
• Experience leading architecture and design for new and current systems
• Experience designing, building, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services
• Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, and reliability analysis
• Experience with AWS or other cloud offerings
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, or C++

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with the full software development life cycle
• Experience working with or evaluating AI systems
• Knowledge of security practices like spam and phishing prevention
• Experience with email protocols (SMTP, DKIM, SPF, DMARC)
• Experience with cloud service migrations and modernization projects
