About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and architect complex software applications, components, and web services to deliver high-performance platform services and APIs.
- Develop and optimize data models to support transactional and analytical workloads for geoscience data.
- Design, code, test, and refactor complex programs and integration software services.
- Manage the release lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities across multiple teams.
- Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and observability tools to automate deployments.
- Define and execute small projects or sub-projects, managing risks, schedules, and stakeholder engagement.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field.
- 7+ years of experience in professional software development roles.
- Proven experience with enterprise-scale data solutions involving high data volumes and high concurrency.
- Expertise in both relational and NoSQL data storage mechanisms.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JSON.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka or Event Hub and API integrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Ability to work autonomously within a clear accountability framework to address complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to diverse stakeholders.
