Senior Software Developer (Data & Backend Development)

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine complex ETL data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into centralized repositories
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices following best practices for security, scaling, and cost-effectiveness
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure data integrity and reliability
• Optimize data processing and query performance for improved retrieval and analytics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers and Analysts, to deliver relevant data insights
• Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
• Implement security measures such as access controls and encryption to ensure data privacy and compliance

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience with big data technologies (e.g., Airflow, EMR/Spark, Snowflake, Hadoop/Hive)
• Proven experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kinesis or Kafka)
• Proficiency in Python and Java or Scala
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Background in cloud technologies, specifically AWS (S3, Lambda, EKS, etc.)
• Sound knowledge of design patterns and modern development methodologies like Agile
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification
