Senior Software Developer (Data & Backend Development)

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine complex ETL data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into centralized repositories
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices following best practices for security, scaling, and cost-effectiveness
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure data integrity and reliability
• Optimize data processing and query performance for efficient retrieval and analytics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers and Analysts, to deliver relevant data insights
• Perform code reviews, create unit/integration tests, and maintain technical documentation
• Implement data security measures including access controls and encryption to ensure compliance with privacy regulations

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience with big data technologies (e.g., Airflow, EMR/Spark, Snowflake, Hadoop/Hive)
• Experience with data streaming technologies such as Kinesis or Kafka
• Proficiency in Python and Java or Scala
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Experience working with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Strong background in cloud technologies, specifically AWS (S3, Lambda, EKS, etc.)
• Familiarity with observability platforms such as Splunk or Datadog
• Excellent debugging skills and knowledge of modern Agile development practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification
