Senior Software Certification Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an engineering team focused on the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft systems and components.
• Collaborate closely with the FAA to navigate complex certification processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison for FAA representatives, facilitating transparent communication throughout the certification journey.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of comprehensive technical documentation required for FAA certification.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, instilling a deep understanding of safety protocols and certification processes.
• Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges using data-driven decision-making and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of experience as a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist.
• 9+ years of experience in RTCA DO-178(B/C) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 to meet export control compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with concurrent software and distributed systems.
• 12+ years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management, and agile practices.
• Proficiency with software version control tools such as Git and agile planning tools like JIRA.
