Senior/SME Engineer and Technical Lead, Hypersonic Weapons Portfolio Proposal Evaluation

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical advisor and lead for proposal evaluations of next-generation hypersonic weapon systems
• Lead technical assessment activities within cross-functional Government evaluation teams
• Conduct detailed evaluations of contractor technical proposals, including system architecture, design maturity, and integration complexity
• Assess manufacturing readiness, production scalability, and supply chain resilience
• Identify technical, integration, and industrial base risks that may impact program execution or fielding timelines
• Support the development of technical evaluation findings, risk assessments, and executive-level briefings for senior Government leadership
• Provide independent technical analysis and recommendations on special projects as designated by the Portfolio Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in defense acquisition, aerospace, or weapon system development
• Demonstrated experience evaluating contractor technical proposals for defense or aerospace programs
• Strong understanding of weapon system development, integration, test, production, and sustainment lifecycles
• Ability to analyze complex proposal submissions and synthesize findings into evidence-based recommendations
• Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain required clearance eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in an Engineering or technical field
• 20+ years of experience supporting advanced aerospace, missile, or hypersonic programs
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Experience with formal source selections, proposal evaluation boards, or color team reviews
• Expertise in hypersonic-specific technologies such as advanced propulsion, guidance, navigation, or thermal protection systems
