Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate highly available MySQL and MongoDB clusters across cloud environments
• Tune query performance, schema, and index strategy in partnership with application engineers
• Extend observability stack including Prometheus, Loki, and Tempo
• Participate in the Platform on-call rotation and lead incident response for data-tier issues
• Improve disaster recovery, security posture, and compliance for the database footprint
• Evaluate and operate ScyllaDB/Cassandra and Elasticsearch workloads
• Write automation, tooling, and operators to reduce repetitive manual work
• Use AI to compress incident response and root-cause analysis

Requirements

• 7+ years in SRE, DevOps, platform, infrastructure, or database reliability roles
• At least 3 years owning production databases at scale
• Experience with MySQL and MongoDB replication, sharding, and failover
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and tooling
• Experience with containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes) and major cloud providers (GCP preferred)
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus or OpenTelemetry
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ScyllaDB, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch
• Experience using AI tooling (copilots, agents) to expedite incident response or developer workflows
