Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the health of Kafka-based runtime via Strimzi on Kubernetes, including broker health, topic lifecycle, and throughput tuning
• Operate and tune distributed system workloads for Spark, Flink, or Ray, managing resource allocation and failure recovery
• Run Redis clusters and other stateful systems, ensuring reliable failover, persistence, and capacity planning
• Manage Amazon EKS and Google GKE cluster lifecycles, scaling, and operator management
• Build deep, data-aware monitoring for consumer lag, throughput, and partition skew
• Lead root-cause analysis for distributed-systems failures and drive durable architectural fixes
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and build operational automation
• Partner with engineering teams to scale new data-movement features in a large-scale Linux environment

Requirements

• 8+ years in infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps with experience operating production distributed data systems
• Deep operational experience with Kafka at scale, ideally on Kubernetes via Strimzi
• Production experience with stateful systems like Redis (clustering, persistence, failover)
• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes operators
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform
• Proficiency in Python for automation and tooling
• Experience with distributed processing engines such as Spark, Flink, or Ray
• Familiarity with data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery
• Solid understanding of CI/CD methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience debugging JVM-based systems
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible
• Broader AWS expertise including IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, and Lambda
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation
