Senior Site Reliability Engineer

HiveWatch is a tech-forward organization modernizing the physical security industry through AI-powered tools. They help security teams pivot from chasing threats to preventing them by orchestrating physical security programs with better communication and insights.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability of mission-critical systems including production monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across the full stack
• Participate in a regular on-call rotation to provide 24/7 coverage
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
• Build automation and tooling to reduce operational toil
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, observability infrastructure, and database performance
• Increase resiliency, scalability, and maintainability of production environments
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years of SRE, DevOps, or production operations experience
• Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Python, or Java
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL optimization
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in AWS architecture (Kinesis, Lambda, EKS, RDS)
• Experience in physical security, IoT, or edge computing
• Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt
• Background in high-availability, multi-tenant SaaS environments
• Experience establishing SRE practices from the ground up
• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
• Knowledge of Kotlin, Rust, TypeScript, or Python
