Senior Signal Processing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize signal processing algorithms for physiological time-series data such as respiratory signals, oximetry, and flow signals
• Build robust pipelines for filtering, denoising, artifact detection, segmentation, and feature extraction
• Develop algorithms for event detection and classification, including apnea/hypopnea detection and respiratory pattern analysis
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to integrate signal processing with AI/ML models
• Define hypotheses, design experiments, and evaluate algorithm performance regarding accuracy, robustness, and real-time feasibility
• Translate clinical and product requirements into deployable solutions for devices or cloud platforms
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a subject matter expert in signal processing and time-series analysis

Requirements

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or Biomedical Engineering with 2+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience
• Strong foundation in digital signal processing (DSP), including filtering, spectral analysis, and time-frequency methods
• Proven experience with time-series analysis, including segmentation, feature extraction, and pattern recognition
• Experience working with physiological or biomedical signals (e.g., ECG, EEG, respiratory signals, SpO2)
• Proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy) or MATLAB
• Solid understanding of probability, statistics, and optimization techniques

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sleep science or respiratory health
• Familiarity with apnea detection, sleep staging, or cardiorespiratory signal analysis
• Experience combining signal processing with machine learning or deep learning approaches
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or similar) for large-scale signal data processing
• Experience working with large-scale time-series datasets
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements (FDA, CE, etc.)
