Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the domain expert for Detection & Response, integrating telemetry from across the ecosystem
• Design and implement precise, actionable alerting within Google Security Operations (SIEM/SOAR)
• Develop specialized detection logic and playbooks to identify application-layer abuses and account-targeted events
• Act as the primary technical lead for security incidents during EMEA hours
• Evolve the threat intelligence program by translating tactical intel into proactive SIEM/SOAR logic
• Ensure the operational health of the core security stack including SentinelOne, GCP Security Command Center, and Mimecast Incydr

Requirements

• Experience operating across Product, Cloud, and Corporate Security pillars
• Deep understanding of the detection-as-code lifecycle
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform ecosystem (Cloud Logging, BigQuery, Pub/Sub)
• Proficiency in Python for automated workflows and API integrations
• Experience with Identity (IAM), threat modeling, and secure code reviews

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with dark web monitoring and brand protection
• Experience leading Security Champions initiatives
• Familiarity with deception techniques like honeytokens or canary credentials
• Prior experience with EDR, Email Security gateways, and Cloud-native Security Command Centers
• Experience defending high-volume SaaS and analytics environments
• Exposure to vulnerability coordination or bug bounty programs
