Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and optimize the perimeter defense stack across edge and origin layers, including Akamai, Cloudflare, and AWS WAF.
• Develop AI and agentic skillsets, workflows, and processes to scale perimeter security operations and automate triage.
• Design and implement guardrails for AI-driven systems, including approval gates, audit logging, and kill switches.
• Lead incident response and mitigation efforts for perimeter-layer attacks such as scraping, credential stuffing, and API abuse.
• Perform ongoing signature tuning, rule deployment, and traffic analysis to improve signal-to-noise ratios.
• Design and implement automation workflows in SOAR platforms to streamline operations and enhance incident response.
• Manage DNS, networking, and delivery routing systems, including global traffic managers and load-balancing configurations.
• Collaborate with engineering, SRE, and SOC teams to ensure scalable, fault-tolerant configurations across multi-CDN environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security analysis, engineering, SOC operations, or CDN/WAF management.
• Deep understanding of HTTP/S, DNS, and TLS fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with Akamai CDN and WAF, Cloudflare, and other origin-based Web Application Firewalls.
• Experience working with AI/LLM tooling or agentic automation in an operational context.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with Splunk or similar SIEM tools for analytics and detection.
• Ability to communicate complex technical details to executive and engineering stakeholders.
• Ability to work standard hours aligned with U.S. Eastern Time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale, high-traffic e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with automation platforms such as Tines, Torq, or other SOAR workflows.
• Experience building or governing agentic AI systems, including MCP servers and prompt engineering.
• Golang system engineering experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
