About the role
Responsibilities
- Respond to security incidents, perform investigations, and articulate potential risks and remediation strategies to stakeholders.
- Use detection engineering best practices to develop and continuously optimize alerts and automated workflows.
- Develop, test, and maintain SOAR workflows, integrations, and scripts to improve incident response speed and consistency.
- Conduct proactive threat hunts and threat modeling exercises to identify potential security threats and IOCs.
- Author and maintain documentation for detections, automated response workflows, playbooks, and integrations.
- Partner with engineering teams to provide requirements for enabling technologies including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and Identity Management.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support real-time detection and response efforts.
Requirements
- Hands-on incident response experience, including managing complex investigations with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of adversary TTPs and experience using MITRE ATT&CK principles.
- Advanced experience with enterprise SIEM platforms, including the design and development of detections and dashboards.
- Strong SOAR development skills with proven experience automating security response workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting, REST APIs, and query languages for automation and alert enrichment.
- Experience using CI/CD tools like Gitlab or Github.
- Experience working with detection-as-code methodologies.
- Ability to analyze endpoint, network, and application logs for anomalous events at scale.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical information security roles focused on monitoring, detection, and response.
- Relevant certifications such as GIAC GCIH, GCFA, GCIA, GREM, OSCP, or CISSP.
- Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience evaluating and operating AI-assisted security tooling.
- Experience working in a distributed, multi-region SOC environment.
