About the role
Responsibilities
- Support clinical operations by assisting with administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and uploading documents/imaging results into EPIC
- Triage patient communications including MyChart messages, phone calls, and emails
- Manage new patient referrals and clinical appointment scheduling, including registration and records requests
- Facilitate clinic workflow by preparing documents, verifying insurance via EPIC, and completing patient checkout
- Coordinate with vendors for medical equipment ordering and delivery
- Obtain necessary pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for clinical services
- Arrange patient transportation through service providers or external organizations
- Coordinate with other departments to arrange clinical testing such as MRIs, EMGs, and genetic testing
- Attend department, division, and center meetings as required
Requirements
- Two years of college, completion of secretarial school, or equivalent business experience
- Two to three years of related administrative experience
- Ability to type 60-65 wpm
- Expertise in Microsoft Office
- Expertise in EPIC
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- One year of related experience working with motor neuron diseases
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure
