About the role
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct, optimize, and troubleshoot cellular screening assays in primary and transformed cell lines
- Perform expression and functional characterization of novel biologics using cell-based assays and detection techniques (RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, etc.)
- Drive the development of cutting-edge assays and oversee the design and maintenance of combinatorial libraries
- Execute advanced molecular biology techniques including plasmid preparation, cloning, and RNA/DNA extraction
- Culture and maintain various mammalian cell lines, including transient and stable transfections
- Analyze assay data, maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, and communicate results to cross-functional teams
- Drive the optimization and automation of screening protocols using liquid handling systems
Requirements
- PhD in Cell or Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting
- Hands-on experience with the development and optimization of cell-based assays and library screening
- Extensive experience in gene design, vector construction, and protein expression
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as RT-qPCR, cloning, and gel electrophoresis
- Experience with gene delivery technologies (e.g., LNP, lentivirus)
- Exposure to CRISPR-based gene editing and NGS data interpretation
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience in drug discovery or pharmaceutical R&D
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism, Benchling, or SnapGene
