Senior Scientist, Therapeutics Engineering

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct, optimize, and troubleshoot cellular screening assays in primary and transformed cell lines
• Perform expression and functional characterization of novel biologics using cell-based assays and detection techniques (RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, etc.)
• Drive the development of cutting-edge assays and oversee the design and maintenance of combinatorial libraries
• Execute advanced molecular biology techniques including plasmid preparation, cloning, and RNA/DNA extraction
• Culture and maintain various mammalian cell lines, including transient and stable transfections
• Analyze assay data, maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, and communicate results to cross-functional teams
• Drive the optimization and automation of screening protocols using liquid handling systems

Requirements

• PhD in Cell or Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
• 2+ years of relevant experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting
• Hands-on experience with the development and optimization of cell-based assays and library screening
• Extensive experience in gene design, vector construction, and protein expression
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as RT-qPCR, cloning, and gel electrophoresis
• Experience with gene delivery technologies (e.g., LNP, lentivirus)
• Exposure to CRISPR-based gene editing and NGS data interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience in drug discovery or pharmaceutical R&D
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism, Benchling, or SnapGene
