Responsibilities

• Use protein prediction and ab initio modeling to develop proteins of novel function
• Characterize protein structure and function including affinity and stability
• Design and build complex DNA libraries with barcoding strategies for pooled screening
• Implement automation for arrayed screening and biochemical assays
• Scale high-throughput workflows for DNA/RNA production and data analysis
• Execute large-scale library screens for protein engineering and CAR optimization
• Manage protein production in bacteria and mammalian cells
• Oversee construct QC, sequence analysis, and NGS-based variant tracking
• Mentor junior scientists and manage direct reports
• Partner with cross-functional teams including CMC and external vendors

Requirements

• BS with 14+ years, MS with 12+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant industry experience
• Deep expertise in protein engineering and CAR design
• Proven track record in building complex DNA libraries and barcoding strategies
• Strong command of molecular cloning and high-throughput plasmid design
• Expert-level experience with NGS-based library analysis and sequence QC
• Experience in technical or professional management/mentorship
• Ability to lead complex projects in a fast-paced environment
