Senior Scientist, Obesity, Muscle & Metabolism

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement novel technologies and approaches for validating targets and modalities to advance metabolic disease drug discovery
• Design and conduct in vitro assays
• Design and perform in vivo studies in animal models to support target validation and mechanistic understanding
• Analyze data and draw scientifically sound conclusions
• Provide timely updates on scientific progress and communicate findings across different teams and functions within the Obesity, Metabolism and Muscle Diseases Group

Requirements

• PhD with a minimum of three years of post-doctoral research experience
• Broad expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, in vitro assay development, and in vivo techniques
• Ability to independently design and perform complex in vivo studies, interpret data, and summarize results
• Expertise in at least one metabolism research area, such as diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, or lipid and energy metabolism
• Documented strong scientific record
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Strong understanding of human and mouse genetics
