Senior Scientist, Molecular Biology

Responsibilities

• Develop proteins of novel function using protein prediction and ab initio modeling to drive wet bench selection and validation
• Characterize protein structure and function, including affinity and stability
• Design and build complex DNA libraries with barcoding strategies to enable pooled screening and variant tracking
• Build and scale high-throughput workflows for DNA/RNA production, screening, and data analysis
• Execute large-scale library screens to support protein engineering, CAR optimization, or binder identification
• Manage construct QC, sequence analysis, and variant tracking using NGS-based workflows
• Mentor junior scientists and manage direct reports to support experimental design and data quality
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including CMC, to provide designs, materials, and timelines

Requirements

• BS with 14+ years, MS with 12+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant industry experience in molecular biology or bioengineering
• Deep expertise in protein engineering and CAR design
• Proven track record of designing and building complex DNA libraries for pooled screening
• Expert-level experience with NGS-based library analysis and variant tracking
• Strong command of molecular cloning and plasmid design in high-throughput settings
• Previous management or technical leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation for arrayed screening and biochemical assays
• Experience with protein production and characterization in both bacterial and mammalian cells
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and cross-functional environment
