About the role
Responsibilities
- Work closely in project teams to understand target biology and molecular mechanisms driving disease pathophysiology
- Build strong partnerships to support the bridge from basic science to human applications
- Perform detailed histological evaluations of tissue samples to identify toxicity and pharmacology effects
- Contribute to the design of in-vivo studies and provide clinical pathology and histopathological data interpretation
- Work with Discovery Sciences and In Vivo Translational Sciences to identify and characterize disease model systems
- Guide the development of novel molecular pathology assays and digital image analysis algorithms
- Contribute to the creation and review of study reports
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with formal pathology residency training
- DACVP or DECVP certification or eligibility
- Typically 7+ years of experience including education and residency training
- Strong pathology background with a 3Rs-centered approach to animal research
- Ability to implement investigative strategies for pharmacology and toxicology
- Strong communication and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Pathology or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrable experience working effectively in cross-functional research teams
