Senior Scientist: Investigative Pathologist

Responsibilities

• Work closely in project teams to understand target biology and molecular mechanisms driving disease pathophysiology
• Build strong partnerships to support the bridge from basic science to human applications
• Perform detailed histological evaluations of tissue samples to identify toxicity and pharmacology effects
• Contribute to the design of in-vivo studies and provide clinical pathology and histopathological data interpretation
• Work with Discovery Sciences and In Vivo Translational Sciences to identify and characterize disease model systems
• Guide the development of novel molecular pathology assays and digital image analysis algorithms
• Contribute to the creation and review of study reports

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with formal pathology residency training
• DACVP or DECVP certification or eligibility
• Typically 7+ years of experience including education and residency training
• Strong pathology background with a 3Rs-centered approach to animal research
• Ability to implement investigative strategies for pharmacology and toxicology
• Strong communication and influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Pathology or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrable experience working effectively in cross-functional research teams
