About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end biomarker strategies for clinical programs from early translational research through Phase I-III studies.
  • Define and implement pharmacodynamic, MOA, prognostic, and predictive biomarkers, including assay qualification and validation.
  • Serve as the biomarker lead for cross-functional program teams, providing scientific direction and risk assessment.
  • Oversee biomarker operations, including CRO management, vendor oversight, and data quality assurance.
  • Design and oversee human-relevant translational studies using primary human samples.
  • Integrate multi-omic, spatial, and clinical datasets to generate actionable insights for program decisions.
  • Author and review clinical biomarker sections for protocols, Investigator Brochures (IBs), and regulatory documents.
  • Represent the organization in health authority interactions (FDA, EMA) and present data at scientific conferences.

Requirements

  • PhD in Immunology, Inflammation Biology, Translational Medicine, or a related discipline.
  • 5–8+ years of relevant post-doctoral and industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of human immunology, inflammation, and/or fibrotic disease biology.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing clinical biomarker strategies, including assay validation and outsourcing.
  • Strong record of scientific contributions, such as high-profile publications or patents.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead biomarker strategy for Phase I–III clinical trials in regulated environments.
  • Prior experience interacting with health authorities on biomarker-related topics.
  • Familiarity with high-dimensional platforms such as flow/mass cytometry, single-cell, or spatial biology.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools like R or Python for biomarker interpretation.
