About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a dynamic in vivo pharmacology team executing preclinical disease models and in vitro assays
- Manage and mentor direct reports, including Scientists and Associate Scientists
- Design experiments, oversee study execution, and ensure timely completion of research
- Represent in vivo data and communicate results to project teams and collaborators
- Perform hands-on in vivo work and run concurrent studies using mice and rats
- Participate in scientific communication, panels, and hiring processes as needed
Requirements
- PhD, PharmD, or MD with Immunology experience
- OR Master's degree with 3 years of Immunology or related experience
- OR Bachelor's degree with 5 years of Immunology or related experience
- Experience with in vivo preclinical respiratory disease models
- Expertise in animal handling (mouse and rat) and in vivo techniques
- Proficiency in lung function measurements (e.g., FlexiVent, Plethysmography)
- Experience with multicolor flow cytometry
- Experience managing direct reports
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience with asthma, COPD, or bleomycin fibrosis models
- Experience with preclinical inflammatory models such as colitis, lupus, or RA
- Hands-on experience with cellular, biochemical, and molecular biology assays (ELISA, MSD, qPCR)
- Proficiency with GraphPad Prism, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement
