Senior Scientist, Development

Responsibilities

• Develop novel experimental designs suitable for high-throughput laboratory environments
• Utilize bioinformatics knowledge to enable data interpretation and study design
• Design workflows for clinical operations, including writing SOPs and experimental protocols
• Develop assays considering automation, QC, and LIMS requirements
• Transfer developed assays from R&D into production and train CLIA laboratory operators
• Mentor laboratory staff and contribute to troubleshooting needs within and outside of R&D
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including automation, bioinformatics, regulatory, and marketing

Requirements

• PhD in biology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field
• 6-7 years of postgraduate laboratory bench experience
• Over 5 years of industry experience in product development
• Experience under Design Control and Quality Systems in regulated product development (LDT diagnostics)
• Strong background in assay development using molecular genomic technologies (RNA and DNA)
• Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms
• NGS-based genomic data analysis and interpretation/visualization skills
