About the Company

Kingdom is building the world's first AI-native functional ingredients company. We've pioneered Superculture® ingredients: an entirely new class of clinically validated postbiotics, made from natural microbes, that target the root causes of unmet health needs for people and pets.

Responsibilities

  • Own genomic analyses and biobank strategy, including computational genomic safety analyses and regulatory documentation
  • Maintain the whole-genome sequencing pipeline, including assembly and linkage of genomes to strain records
  • Operate the strain dereplication pipeline from 16S/ITS screening through unique-strain identification
  • Design and curate screening plates for downstream functional assays
  • Build AI-compatible scientific data infrastructure to capture, store, and analyze multi-modal data
  • Develop statistical and computational methods to power biological insights and support wet-lab workflows
  • Maintain the integrity of the strain database backend, including tube tracking and physical inventory audits
  • Model complex scientific entities into a coherent schema and ontology
  • Scope and build data processing, analysis, and metrics for new assays

Requirements

  • PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, microbial genomics, or a related quantitative life-sciences field
  • 1-3 years of post-PhD experience
  • Domain depth in microbial genomics (WGS, 16S/ITS, dereplication, taxonomy, and safety annotation)
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and quantitative methods
  • Expert-level Python or R and proficiency with SQL
  • Experience with containerization and building tools for third-party APIs
  • Experience designing and maintaining bio-data infrastructure and ontologies
  • AI-native workflow experience (e.g., Claude Code, prompt fluency, agentic tools)
  • High agency and a builder mentality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building tooling around personal research workflows
  • Ability to package findings into actionable, concrete outputs
