Senior Scientist, Cell Therapy Islet

Responsibilities

• Execute routine 2D and 3D PSC expansion, passaging and directed SC-islet differentiation
• Design optimization experiments to achieve scalable and robust 3D SC-islet differentiation processes
• Optimize differentiation protocols to achieve highly pure on-target populations
• Operate closed systems including tube welders, sealers, and single-use assemblies
• Manage controlled bioreactor setup, operation, automation, and process control (DO, pH, perfusion, agitation)
• Maintain scientific documentation and contribute to SOP development
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project deadlines

Requirements

• PhD in Stem cell biology, biochemical/biomedical Engineering or related fields
• 3-5 years of direct cell therapy industry experience
• Extensive experience operating various bioreactors for suspension culture
• Significant experience operating closed systems for cell culture
• Proficiency in Flow cytometry and Immunofluorescent staining
• Proficiency with software such as FACSDiva, FlowJo, ImageJ, or Halo

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of directed stem cell differentiation toward pancreatic islet lineage
• Experience with bioreactor control software or DOE-based optimization
• Experience operating large-scale bioreactors (15L+)
• Passion for GMP transition and automation
