About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and communicate analytical characterization for biotherapeutics, including AAV, monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, and Fc-fusion proteins.
- Lead characterization activities to evaluate critical quality attributes such as charge variants, size variants, and post-translational modifications.
- Utilize charge detection mass spectrometry (CDMS) and native-MS approaches to support drug development.
- Provide analytical support to cross-functional teams, including formulation, process development, and manufacturing.
- Develop innovative LC-MS techniques to improve operational efficiency and address evolving developmental needs.
- Perform sample preparation and LC-MS analyses in compliance with SOPs and document results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
- Author and review regulatory submission documents (IND, BLA) and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
Requirements
- BS with 10+ years of experience, MS with 7+ years of experience, or PhD with 0-3+ years of experience.
- Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience with advanced mass spectrometers (e.g., Q Exactive Plus, Q Exactive UHMR, Q-TOF).
- Proficiency in liquid chromatography and data processing software (e.g., Protein Metrics, Skyline, UniDec).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with charge detection mass spectrometry (CDMS).
- Experience applying LC-MS to the characterization of AAV and monoclonal antibodies.
- Experience with experimental design and data analysis, including molecular modeling and statistical analysis.
