Senior Scientist - AAV (CDMS) - Analytical and Biological Mass Spectrometry (ABMS)

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and communicate analytical characterization for biotherapeutics, including AAV, monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, and Fc-fusion proteins.
• Lead characterization activities to evaluate critical quality attributes such as charge variants, size variants, and post-translational modifications.
• Utilize charge detection mass spectrometry (CDMS) and native-MS approaches to support drug development.
• Provide analytical support to cross-functional teams, including formulation, process development, and manufacturing.
• Develop innovative LC-MS techniques to improve operational efficiency and address evolving developmental needs.
• Perform sample preparation and LC-MS analyses in compliance with SOPs and document results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
• Author and review regulatory submission documents (IND, BLA) and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.

Requirements

• BS with 10+ years of experience, MS with 7+ years of experience, or PhD with 0-3+ years of experience.
• Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Extensive experience with advanced mass spectrometers (e.g., Q Exactive Plus, Q Exactive UHMR, Q-TOF).
• Proficiency in liquid chromatography and data processing software (e.g., Protein Metrics, Skyline, UniDec).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with charge detection mass spectrometry (CDMS).
• Experience applying LC-MS to the characterization of AAV and monoclonal antibodies.
• Experience with experimental design and data analysis, including molecular modeling and statistical analysis.
