About the role
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain workflows, libraries, and stand-alone tools for transcriptomics and epigenetic data analysis at both bulk and single-cell levels.
- Evaluate, refine, and productionize analytical workflows to support drug pipeline decisions.
- Collaborate with computational scientists to translate analytical needs into reusable software components.
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams of Software Engineers, Computational Biologists, and Data Scientists to develop scientific tools and interfaces.
- Manage FAIR data principles, including tracking data lineage and ensuring data quality and discovery.
Requirements
- PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
- Expert knowledge of R package development and familiarity with the Posit toolchain.
- Proven experience analyzing large-scale single-cell and bulk datasets using R.
- Proficiency in integrating and analyzing multimodal biological data using scalable formats such as Parquet, tileDB, Zarr, or H5.
- Experience working with REST APIs, MCPs, and modern programmatic data science interfaces.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the full software development lifecycle following modern practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Bioconductor and Tidyverse ecosystems.
- Proficiency in RMarkdown, Quarto, Shiny, or Plumber deployment.
- Experience with Python technologies including Pandas, Polars, Streamlit, or FastAPI.
- Prior experience working within a life sciences or drug development environment.
