Senior Safety/Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Supervise security personnel on assigned shifts to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
• Conduct regular physical inspections and security checks of the grounds and facility
• Act as the primary on-center contact for law enforcement and supervisors in the absence of the Safety/Security Manager
• Investigate incidents and provide clear, accurate written reports
• Control disturbances and assist staff in de-escalating situations
• Maintain student accountability and log all employees, visitors, and vendors entering or exiting the center
• Perform searches for contraband and supervise students in isolation when necessary
• Transport students and perform routine inspections on GSA fleet vehicles
• Foster a safe environment free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of related security or safety experience
• Experience working with youth
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
