Senior Safety Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs on mega heavy civil construction projects
• Lead and manage a team of 3-7 safety coordinators and technicians
• Oversee incident investigations, reporting, and implementation of corrective actions
• Develop and implement jobsite safety plans and leading indicator action plans
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities, machinery, and equipment to ensure regulatory compliance
• Monitor the workforce for unsafe behaviors and provide active coaching
• Coordinate and present safety training to meet client and company requirements
• Communicate safety matters effectively between Kiewit and client management
• Perform daily jobsite reviews to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and client policies

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing safety for large-scale projects exceeding $100M
• Proven ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on complex infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, local/federal regulations, and hazard recognition
• Proficiency in injury management and safety record keeping
• Ability to work in varying environments, including diverse weather conditions and terrain
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required by project needs
