Senior Robotics Software Engineer

About the Company

Charge Robotics is a Series A startup building robots that build solar farms. MIT-founded and backed by top investors like Founders Fund and Y Combinator, we are working to speed up the world’s transition to renewables by addressing labor bottlenecks in solar construction.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, document, test, and iterate on software for robotic factory installation systems
• Develop perception, motion planning, and controls software for unstructured field conditions
• Contribute to low-level software powering robotic systems in factories and delivery vehicles
• Control industrial automation hardware including linear actuators, motors, and hydraulic systems

Requirements

• Experienced Python developer
• Proficiency in a lower-level language such as C++
• Experience writing real-time, embedded, or robotics software
• Experience with version control, CI, and writing clean, documented code
• Ability to work 4-5 days/week onsite in San Leandro, CA
• Willingness to travel ~10% to solar construction sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial robot arms, motion planning, or automation systems
• 4-year degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field
