Senior Robotic Metrology Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end dimensional calibration of robotic welding cells using FARO laser trackers
• Set up and operate FARO Vantage laser trackers per company SOPs
• Level RTU/PTU rails and align positioners to tolerance in PolyWorks
• Calibrate robot arms in RoboDK on Yaskawa hardware via teach pendant
• Review results against specifications and resolve out-of-tolerance findings
• Export, document, and hand off validated calibration packages
• Troubleshoot tracker, software, and pendant issues on-site
• Travel to customer sites for installation and alignment (60–70% travel)

Requirements

• Over five years of metrology experience using FARO Vantage or ION laser trackers
• Advanced mastery of PolyWorks including GD&T and automated macros
• Functional understanding of robotic calibration sequences and RoboDK
• Proficiency in Yaskawa/Motoman teach pendant operations
• Technical proficiency in Python scripting for measurement automation
• Experience in heavy industrial fabrication or complex automation integration
• Ability to travel 60-70% and work non-standard hours
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in shop floor environments

Preferred Qualifications

• FARO certification or CMS accreditation
• Advanced coursework in laser tracker operation
