Senior Roadway Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address issues
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT standards and regulations
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 8+ years of experience in roadway design engineering
• Proficiency in roadway design software such as MicroStation, InRoads, or OpenRoads
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards
• Intermediate Excel skills, including macros and equations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
