About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate insurance needs and identify protection goals consistent with strategic plans
- Monitor risk performance and maintain incident records to improve effectiveness
- Support the renewal of annual insurance policies and evaluate global/regional policies
- Provide subject matter expertise to senior management and legal counsel
- Draft insurance wording for contracts, consignment agreements, and vendor contracts
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers
- Lead preparation of emergency management and contingency plans
- Manage claims, including investigation, negotiation, and settlement
- Conduct risk surveys at regional offices and warehouses to ensure adequate protection
- Train and mentor employees in risk-related matters
Requirements
- 5–8 years of proven experience in risk management or the insurance industry
- Degree and/or certification in insurance or risk management
- Licensed Claims adjuster
- Experience with crisis management and business continuity planning
- Proficiency in contract and vendor negotiation
- Proven experience in loss prevention, planning, and investigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
