Senior RF Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define top-level RF system requirements for ground terminals, including antenna interfaces, frequency conversion chains, and RF front ends
• Own end-to-end terminal RF performance such as G/T, noise temperature, EIRP, link margin, and noise figure
• Define, select, and manage RF front-end component BOMs including LNAs, SSPAs, feeds, and waveguide hardware
• Troubleshoot RF system issues across the full receive and transmit chain
• Plan and execute RF system acceptance testing using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and noise figure analyzers
• Support regulatory and compliance submissions including frequency coordination and emissions analysis

Requirements

• 5+ years designing and deploying RF systems or communication links
• Strong command of system-level RF metrics and link budget analysis
• Proficiency with RF bench instrumentation (VNA, spectrum analyzer, noise figure analyzer, power meter)
• Experience owning a component BOM from specification through procurement
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for RF system analysis
• Ability to troubleshoot in field environments or remote sites
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under ITAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience developing ground terminals for space or defense programs
• Experience with parabolic dish systems and antenna control systems
• Working knowledge of DVB-S2 or other satellite waveforms
• Experience with multi-band or frequency-agile systems
• Experience in RF lineup design at microwave frequencies
• Familiarity with ground system EMI/EMC and phased array apertures
