About the role
Responsibilities
- Design front-end RF signal-chain circuits and assemblies for space vehicle communication and signal analysis systems
- Design stable, low-phase noise oscillators, distribution networks, and RF digitizer circuits using multi-GSPS ADC/DAC components
- Create sampling and frequency conversion plans for multi-GHz instantaneous bandwidth signals
- Integrate RF circuits and digitizer assemblies with existing FPGA-based DSP functions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to establish technical requirements and conduct design reviews
- Support PCB layout engineers to ensure circuit boards meet RF performance requirements
- Verify design performance through systematic laboratory measurements and lead hardware troubleshooting efforts
- Provide technical leadership, training, and guidance to less experienced RF engineers
Requirements
- BSEE or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant RF engineering experience
- Deep understanding of RF circuit theory, transmission line propagation, and coupling
- Proficiency in schematic capture (Siemens Xpedition preferred) and commercial EDA tools (Cadence/AWR or Keysight ADS preferred)
- Experience with 3D EM field modeling using CAD tools (Ansys SIwave & HFSS preferred)
- Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment including VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, and Phase Noise Analyzers
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing direct-sampling or frequency-converting digital RF systems
- Expertise in front-end circuit design, oscillator/clock design, or 3D EM field modeling
