Senior Restaurant Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of Babel and Ou Bakkery
• Ensure seamless 5-star service flow, effective planning, and consistent execution
• Drive SOP compliance, service standards, food safety, and the Babylonstoren Way
• Manage labour costs, inventory, breakages, and waste control
• Develop staff and future managers through training and coaching
• Drive wine knowledge, product knowledge, and sales performance
• Ensure accurate administration, reporting, and follow-up
• Build strong relationships with guests, hotel guests, and team members
• Form part of the senior leadership team for Babel, Ou Bakkery, and Functions/Events

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ management experience within premium restaurants, hotels, lodges, or wine estates
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)
• Strong experience in restaurant operations and staff management
• Good understanding of labour control, stock control, and cost management
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
• Willing and able to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays
