About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day execution of multiple Smart Construction research projects, including planning, implementation, and technical oversight.
- Design, configure, deploy, and evaluate advanced sensing and data acquisition systems for smart construction research.
- Develop and apply AI-based methods for energy usage detection, structural condition assessment, and intelligent decision-making.
- Integrate sensing technologies, robotics, and computational methods to support laboratory experiments and field deployments.
- Provide technical guidance and research direction to postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and research assistants.
- Report research progress and technical challenges to Prof. T.Y. Yang through regular meetings.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Applied Science.
- Minimum of one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated research experience in Smart Construction, Structural Health Monitoring, Artificial Intelligence, or Robotics.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience working with robotic systems, sensing systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition platforms.
- Proven ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems within multidisciplinary teams.
