About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute chemical process-related research projects focused on new products and process optimization
- Develop and implement experimental plans and Design of Experiments (DOE) studies
- Synthesize, isolate, and purify compounds and intermediates using scalable techniques
- Operate, maintain, and master laboratory reactor systems for continuous and batch reactions
- Acquire and interpret analytical data using various instrumentation to assess compound identity and purity
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and manufacturing teams to transfer processes
- Communicate research progress through detailed reports, presentations, and verbal updates
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with company safety guidelines and standards
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- 5-10 years of experience in process scale-up within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry
- Expertise in designing and executing experimental plans for chemical process optimization
- Proficiency with analytical instrumentation including NMR, HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS, FT-IR, and UV-Vis
- Strong understanding of organic reaction mechanisms and structure elucidation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong organizational abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized or high-pressure/high-temperature reactor design and operation
- Ability to design and maintain lab and pilot-scale equipment
