About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the path from research output to production-ready artifacts like detection rules, distributed feeds, and customer alerts
- Build and maintain STRIKE platform components including distribution servers, sandbox orchestration, and rules engines
- Turn research into shipped detection content using YARA, Sigma, and STIX patterns
- Drive STIX 2.1 and TAXII 2.1 adoption as unified output and distribution standards
- Automate research workflows including indicator enrichment, report drafting, and sandbox triage
- Implement production-grade language model systems with retrieval, schema validation, and evaluation harnesses
- Coordinate with engineering and product teams to ensure research findings land in the product
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on engineering experience in threat intelligence, security research, or detection engineering
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node.js
- Experience with relational/cache data stores and streaming or batch data platforms
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containers, and CI/CD pipelines
- Working knowledge of STIX 2.1, TAXII 2.1, MISP, and MITRE ATT&CK
- Hands-on experience with YARA, Sigma, and STIX Patterning
- Experience shipping production systems that utilize language models
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with policy-as-code or expression-language engines (CEL, OPA)
- Published or co-authored security research
- Experience with large-scale telemetry (Splunk, Kinesis, NetFlow)
- Contributor to open-source threat intel projects
- Familiarity with quantitative risk frameworks like FAIR
- Proficiency in Golang
