About the role
Responsibilities
- Independently develop and perform in vivo studies using animal models across oncology, autoimmunity, and metabolism disease areas
- Support screening, characterization, and mechanism of action studies for various drug modalities, including small molecules, biologics, and nucleic acids
- Generate high-quality data and monitor animal health in compliance with IACUC regulations
- Develop ex vivo assays in collaboration with translational science to determine pharmacodynamic biomarkers
- Collaborate with in vitro biology and translational teams to support daily operations in the vivarium and laboratory
- Accurately record experimental results and documentation via Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN)
Requirements
- BSc or advanced degree in Biology or a related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in animal handling within a research setting
- Expertise in multiple forms of substance administration (e.g., PO, IP, IV, SC)
- Experience in necropsy, tissue collection, and processing
- Proficiency in scientific software including Excel, GraphPad Prism, and FlowJo
- Demonstrated ability to execute in vitro and ex vivo assays such as cell culture, ELISA, or Flow cytometry
- Strong ability to analyze scientific data and communicate findings to internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Research background in oncology, immunology, or metabolism in an industry or academic setting
- Previous experience specifically with animal models of metabolism, oncology, and autoimmunity
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry
