Senior Research Associate, Flow Sorting

Responsibilities

• Conduct cell sorting experiments to isolate specific cell and nuclei populations with high purity and viability
• Operate and troubleshoot flow cytometry and cell sorting equipment
• Support the design and optimization of tissue dissociation and cell/nuclei isolation methods
• Perform preparation and dissociation of human tissues and cells
• Execute nucleic acid extraction and sequencing library preparation
• Maintain compliance with Human Tissue Act (HTA) and COSHH regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to refine processes and scale operations

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in a biologically relevant field
• 3+ years of experience in flow cytometry, including optimizing staining conditions and panel optimization
• Working knowledge of cell sorting principles and equipment maintenance/troubleshooting
• Proficiency in flow cytometry data analysis software and automated analysis pipelines
• Experience using digital laboratory information management systems (LIMS), such as Benchling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the isolation and sorting of nuclei
• Experience with spectral flow cytometry, including unmixing and autofluorescence extraction
• Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation
• Experience working with laboratory automation systems
• Previous experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry setting
