About the role
Responsibilities
- Innovate, optimize, and execute various plant delivery and transformation methods in collaboration with a team of scientists
- Develop and troubleshoot transformation protocols and propose solutions for complex experimental problems and bioassays
- Perform bacterial plasmid transfections and assist in plant phenotyping and imaging
- Sample plants for molecular assays used as experimental readouts
Requirements
- MS in Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline with 3+ years of professional laboratory experience
- OR a BS in a related field with 5+ years of professional laboratory experience
- Experience with plant transformation methods such as Agrobacterium or biolistic approaches
- Expertise in DNA, RNA, and protein isolation and purification
- Proficiency in handling plant tissues and sampling plants for assays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an industry setting
- Experience with RNA-related workflows and RNA-protein interactions
- Hands-on experience with bacterial, fungal, or viral pathogens in economically important crops
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple experimental workflows in a fast-paced environment
